Utilizing TMJ Information: Add More Value in Orthodontic Treatment

Dr. Kazumi Ikeda attended the University of Pennsylvania (1979-1981) and received a Certificate in Orthodontics. Dr. Ikeda started a private practice in Tokyo, Japan in 1981. After taking the two-year Roth comprehensive clinical orthodontic course from 1985-1987, established the two-year course in Japan and has been the director of Roth Williams Center in Japan since 1990. Certified by American Board of Orthodontics in 1989.
Dr. Ikeda has given over 50 presentations in Japan and internationally at the AAO and other meetings. Published several scientific articles and continues to pursue research interest in temporomandibular joint conditions. Published "TMJ 1st Orthodontics" in 2014 and "Face Design and Orthodontics" in 2021.

Course Description
Expand the knowledge of TMJ and how it can be more beneficial to orthodontic treatment for disc displacement.
Educational Objectives
- Provide knowledge of disc displacement.
- Identify what kind of influence from disc displacement has to the TMJ structure and function.
- Demonstrate how the TMJ status will influence stability of jaw position.
- Show how disc displacement in growing child will influence the jaw growth.
