Oral Health as a Window on Your Overall Health: The Problem of Integrating Oral Health Services Into the Health System

Angus Corbett is an Adjunct Professor in Penn Cary Law School. He teaches Health Law and Comparative Health Systems and Law. His area of expertise concerns the regulation and governance of systems, including health systems.
Dr. Alicia earned her Doctorate in Dentistry at the University of Iowa and has a Diplomate from American Board of Special Care Dentistry and a Fellowship from the Academy of Dentistry for Persons with Disabilities. She volunteers on numerous committees focused on access to care and advocating for dental care for vulnerable populations. She is also heavily involved with the Pennsylvania Coalition for Oral Health and the NYS Task Force on Special Care Dentistry as an active policy maker and advocate for Special Care Dentistry. She serves as a member of the Health Advisory Board for the Governor of PA. Dr. Alicia has a long practice history in various clinic settings where she treated individuals of all ages and ability levels. She worked as an Assistant Professor at LECOM School of Dental Medicine and is currently the Associate Director of the Care Center for Persons with Disabilities at University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and Assistant Professor of Clinical Oral Medicine and Restorative Dentistry. She has several publications and a history of presentations relating to advocacy and treatment for complex patients and access to care.

This lecture investigates the issues that would arise if insurance for oral health were fully integrated into systems of health insurance.
