Interview with Dr. Brian O'Connell

Brian O’Connell is Dean of Dental Science at Trinity College, Dublin. Brian received his undergraduate degree in dentistry at the National University of Ireland, Cork and postgraduate training in Prosthodontics and Biochemistry at the Eastman Dental Center-University of Rochester, New York. He continued his work at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, where he was Chief of the Gene Regulation and Expression Unit, NIDCR.
Brian is currently Dean of Dental Science and Professor of Restorative Dentistry and Director of Postgraduate Prosthodontics at Trinity College, Dublin, with a clinical emphasis on multidisciplinary care. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.Professor O’Connell is a member of the Trinity College Center for Ageing, EngAGE, with an interest in the oral health of older people. He has published and lectured widely on Prosthodontics and Implantology.

Course Description
The Roots of Wisdom conversation series aims to bring together influential global leaders to answer and discuss thought-provoking questions and share their population and public health experience and knowledge. Questions are submitted in advance by a global community who have previously attended sessions of our Lecture Series.
