David P Donatelli, DDS, FACP graduated from Temple University School of Dentistry in 1980 and obtained his Graduate Certificate in Prosthodontics from Temple University School of Dentistry in 1982. He is a Fellow at American College of Prosthodontists, Diplomate for American Board of Prosthodontics and International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI). He is a member and past President for Pennsylvania Prosthodontic Association, and he is the past President of Carl O. Boucher Prosthodontic Conference.
After completing the graduate prosthodontic program at Temple University School of Dentistry, Dr. Donatelli returned to Pittsburgh, PA to teach part-time at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and maintain a private practice limited to prosthodontics. In 2011, he returned to Philadelphia and Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry as a full-time faculty member in the Department of Restorative Dentistry. He was a Clinical Assistant Professor and the Course and Clinic Director for Removable Prosthodontics. He presently is in private practice in Chalfont, PA.
Dr. Donatelli has served on various ACP committees and currently serves on the ACP Council to the American Board of Prosthodontics. He was a member on the ACP Task Force on Occlusion and a contributing editor to the Occlusion e-Book. He has more than thirty years experience teaching and performing all phases of removable, fixed and implant prosthodontics.

Course Description
Implant supported restorations can have a huge impact on patient quality of life, but can also present challenges. As in any rehabilitation, following the proper diagnostic and treatment planning protocols increases the chances of successful treatment and minimizes risk. This lecture will review some of the diagnostic information that needs to be gathered for planning prior to implant placement.
