Dr. Sousa Melo is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. He
serves on several committees at the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology
(AAOMR) and is the current chair of the Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology Section at ADEA
(American Dental Education Association). He is an active researcher with interests including
indications and limitations of cone beam CT, and imaging of the temporomandibular joints.
He has published 8 book chapters and 45+ papers in peer-reviewed journals.
