Course Description
The final webinar of this four part series will explore the “value proposition” offered by dental therapists in three types of practice settings: private, tribal clinic settings, and DSO or similar large scale practice models. The focus will be on expansion of services, community acceptance, practice growth, dentists personally providing more of one type of service and less of another because dental therapists are present, and other categories of practice and personal value achieved with the integration of dental therapists in practice settings.
Educational Objectives
- Understand the “value proposition” offered by dental therapists in three types of practice settings: private, tribal clinic settings, and DSO;
- Discuss the supervisory relationship between dentist and dental therapists in providing high-quality dental care and the impact on patient outcomes: and
- Evaluate the economic impact of dental therapists, including cost-effectiveness and accessibility of dental care services.
