Dr. Yu-Chun Lin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Preventive and Restorative Science at Penn Dental Medicine. She earned a Doctor of Medical Sciences (DMSc) degree and a Certificate in Prosthodontics from Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Prior to that, she received her DDS, completed a general practice residency, and obtained a master’s degree in prosthodontics in Taiwan.
Her research focuses on clinical prosthodontics, integrating innovative digital technology and biomaterials to enhance clinical outcomes, as well as translational studies on oral and bone diseases. At Penn Dental Medicine, she is actively involved in teaching preclinical prosthodontics and mentoring postdoctoral residents.

Course Description
Managing occlusal vertical dimension (OVD) is a crucial aspect of restorative dentistry that can significantly influence both esthetic and functional outcomes. This lecture explores the considerations and management strategies for increasing OVD on dentofacial esthetics and functional outcomes. It integrates both traditional methods and digital technology, supported by literature.
