Course Description
Maxillofacial reconstruction is rapidly evolving with advanced digital workflows, precision-guided surgery, and patient-specific prosthetic solutions. This lecture will explore innovations in virtual surgical planning, CAD/CAM, and 3D printing for personalized treatment. A key focus will be the Fibula-Jaw-in-a-Day concept, highlighting the integration of surgical reconstruction with immediate dental rehabilitation. Utilizing virtual modeling, and intraoperative navigation, we aim to enhance surgical precision, accelerate treatment timelines, and optimize functional and esthetic outcomes. I will present case studies from Penn that illustrate the impact of these advancements on patient quality of life. This session will also address the challenges associated with emerging technologies, emphasizing the role of interdisciplinary collaboration in advancing patient-centered care.
