Course Description
This presentation will describe various complications associated with implant surgery and restoration. The use of dental implants has increased tremendously since the introduction of osseointegration. At this time, dental implant therapy is routinely utilized for replacement of hopeless/ missing teeth. . However, with the increased application of dental implant therapy, there is also increase in observed complications associated with it. For a practitioner, along with understanding how to plan, place and restore dental implants, it is also imperative to learn how to recognize and manage associated complications. There are multiple steps from the time of implant placement to delivery of definitive restoration. Errors can happen at any time during this treatment sequence. This presentation will cover different types of complications with dental implant therapy and their prosthodontic management.
