Class of 2026 Final Presentations

Dr. Nazbanoo Farpour earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, after which she practiced in private practice. She later moved to the United States and obtained her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2024 and was awarded the membership of Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) National Dental Honor Society.
Dr. Farpour is currently completing her postgraduate training in Endodontics at the University of Pennsylvania.
In addition to her clinical training, Dr. Farpour has been involved in research, with a focus on cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) and the applications of artificial intelligence in endodontics.

Dr. Kacie Warshowsky earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida and her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 2024. She is currently a second-year resident in the post-graduate Endodontics program at Penn. Upon completion of her residency, Dr. Warshowsky plans to move to North Carolina.

Dr. Brenda Yeung earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 2023. She completed a General Practice Residency at the Brooklyn VA Medical Center, providing comprehensive dental care to veterans. She then returned to Penn Dental Medicine, where she is completing her post-graduate Endodontics training. Following her residency, she plans to practice in the greater Philadelphia area.

Dr. Young Kwang (Glory) Kim earned his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry from Harvard School of Dental Medicine and a Bachelor of Science in Theater and Dance and Biology from Trinity College. As an undergraduate, he published first-author, peer-reviewed papers in developmental biology and was selected as a Janelia HHMI Undergraduate Scholar. After graduation, he volunteered with AmeriCorps at Zufall Health Center, completing over 1,700 hours of community outreach to expand access to care for underserved populations, an experience that motivated him to become fluent in Spanish. Glory is a dedicated educator with a teaching certificate from Harvard’s Derek Bok Center for Teaching and Learning and enjoys fitness and outdoor activities in his free time.

Dr. Brian Nicholson is an endodontic resident committed to patient-centered care. He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from Florida State University and a master’s degree in biomedical science from Florida Atlantic University. He completed his dental training at the University of Pennsylvania, where he is currently a candidate for an endodontics certificate. During dental school, he graduated with honors in vulnerable populations and founded SquashSmarts, mentoring middle and high school students academically and through squash. As a resident, he has led efforts with dental students to create a “Save the Tooth Club” to address endodontic misinformation. His interests include improving patient experience, increasing access to care, and evidence-based practice.

Dr. Nadasinee (Chrissie) Jaruchotiratanasakul is currently persuing her Doctor of Science in Dentistry (DScD) candidate and endodontic residency at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine. She received her DDS degree from Mahidol University, Thailand in 2021.
Dr. Jaruchotiratanasakul has presented nationally and internationally and has published multiple manuscripts derived from her translational research. Her work has contributed to emerging frameworks for robotics-assisted endodontic biofilm cleaning and the design of next-generation antimicrobial delivery platforms.

Dr. Shivakar Mehrotra earned his dental degree from University of Leeds, followed by extensive hospital-based training in restorative dentistry—including endodontics—and oral and maxillofacial surgery. During this time, he contributed to multiple research projects, with one receiving first prize from the British Society of Restorative Dentistry. He is currently a second-year Endodontics resident and MSOB candidate at the University of Pennsylvania, where he continues to advance his clinical expertise and academic pursuits in endodontics.

Dr. Ria Rajiv Gakhar (self study course) is an endodontic resident with a background in general dentistry and a strong interest in evidence-informed endodontic care, dental trauma, and microsurgical procedures. She completed her dental training at James Cook University in Australia, where her education emphasized care for rural, remote, and Indigenous communities, and is currently pursuing specialty training at the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to residency, she practiced in Newfoundland and Northern Ontario, including underserved and fly-in communities, experiences that shaped her commitment to improving access to specialty dental care. Dr. Gakhar values thoughtful, patient-centered treatment, interdisciplinary collaboration, and lifelong learning within endodontics.
