Course Description
There are several possibilities for the treatment approach of congenitally missing and malformed lateral incisors. To come up with a state of care and premier treatment, an interdisciplinary thinking process is needed for these cases. Initial and final occlusion, facial aesthetics, patient age, periodontal status, and patient social conditions are among the important requisites to the final diagnosis and treatment plan.
Educational Objectives
- Understand the incidence and compromises of congenitally missing incisors to the whole dentition
- Recognize compromises of congenitally missing lateral incisors to the whole dentition
- Compare prosthetic replacement vs. space closure
- Understand the role of periodontists and the restorative team in the treatment approach of congenitally missing and malformed lateral incisors.
