Disability Rights Under ADA and the Impact on Private Dental Practice (LIVE Only)
Dr. Michael R. Ragan is Managing Partner of a Miami based law firm with 30 years of experience as a defense trial attorney. He received a B.A. from Syracuse University, a D.M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, and an L.L.M. in Health Law from Loyola University College of Law. Dr. Ragan has held academic appointments at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and the Georgetown University Dental School. Dr. Ragan is presently Adjunct Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine and Clinical Professor, Department of Restorative Dental Sciences, Division of General Dentistry University Florida College of Dentistry.

This presentation will outline the methods by which the dental practitioner can comply with the ADA and manifest modifications of policies, facilitate communication, and ensure access to the entire patient population.
- Understand the requirements to make reasonable modifications (or changes) to policies, practices, and procedures to provide equal access to facilities and services to persons with disabilities
- Understand the device, method, or service to ensure that communication with patients with hearing, vision, and speech disabilities are as effective as communication with other patients
